SOSINA Exploration Ltd.

Pre-SOSINA History

It would not have been possible to establish SOSINA Exploration Ltd. without the experience gained within Shell, Seismic-to-Simulation, Odegaard UK and its Danish affiliates Ødegaard A/S, as well as Ødegaard & Danneskiold-Samsøe A/S. The main milestones of these companies are as follows:


1980: John Ødegaard & Ulrik Danneskiold-Samsøe founded the company Ødegaard & Danneskiold-Samsøe A/S. Entire staff photographed in front of the office building.

1982: Ødegaard & Danneskiold-Samsøe A/S gets its first orders to analyse noise from seismic boats. The noise level was measured using hydrophones mounted on a specially built aluminium structure with wheels to roll on the outside of the hull.

Mr. John Ødegaard onboard M/V ?Western Europa?.


1985: Development of the RAMESSES seismic signal real time on-line monitoring system commences. The project is based on an R&D order from AMOCO

1996: The first seismic inversion service is performed based on the proprietary developed ISIS inversion software

1997: After having worked within Shell for 20 years, Dr. David J. Davies founds the 3D seismic company Seismic-to-Simulation in Aberdeen. Odegaard UK joins as partner.

2000: Dr. David J. Davies is named Managing Director of Odegaard UK.

2004: SOSINA is founded and commences operation. It shares office space with the Odegaard office in Aberdeen


2006: Schlumberger/WesternGeco acquires Odegaard A/S, Odegaard UK as well as other sister companies owned by Ødegaard A/S.


About SOSINA

SOSINA Exploration Ltd. is an independent oil and gas exploration company. The Company was founded in 2004, but with roots back as a sister company to the company Odegaard Ltd. acquired in 2006 by Schlumberger Inc.
